For several years we've taught tutorial sessions at conferences on the subject of understanding variable driven design, our term for the modern modeling systems that can change their geometry based on user defined variables. We use the term variable driven modeling instead of parametric, variational, dimension driven or other such nomenclature.

We plan to offer these sessions on-line. Instead of traveling to a seminar, paying for the travel expense, and the seminar expense, you can take one or more of our courses.

The first course we are offering is a tutorial entitled Understanding Variable Driven Design. As time goes by and we detect some interest we will add others.

To supplement the course, we are providing a paper written in 1994, but which is surprisingly on the mark today. You are free to download it and view it using Adobe Acrobat. Feel free to print and distribute it. Go to the publications list to download the paper Understanding Variable Driven Modeling.

The on-line course: Understanding Variable Driven Design

The course contains 60 slides and text. Many of the slides contain illustrative graphics and explanatory text.
